Barbara Muskat, MSW, RSW, PhD Candidate, is the Director of Community Consultation at Integra, a children's mental health centre in Toronto, Ontario, specializing in the psychosocial needs of children and adolescents with learning disabilities. She has over 30 years experience as a social worker, working with individuals, families and groups. She has worked in a variety of settings, including the social assistance sector, the American educational system, a pediatric medical setting and, for the past 17 years, in the children's mental health sector. Her area of specialty is in understanding and treating psychosocial difficulties in children and youth with learning disabilities and Asperger Syndrome.

Barbara is a member of the Board of Directors of the Asperger Society of Ontario. She is also chair of the Toronto Region Groupworkers Network and a member of the international board of the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups.

Barbara has presented seminars and workshops at numerous conferences throughout North America.

Barbara teaches courses in group work and social work intervention with children and adolescents at the University of Toronto and at Renison College, the University of Waterloo.

Barbara resides in Toronto with her husband and has four grown-up children.
